I call it "Gay Steampunk Cthulu"
I started by twisting some clear seed beads on cheap jewelry wire. I also admit I had no idea what I was planning at that stage.
Then I attached some UPCYCLED VINTAGE OMG crap I found on the street (the shark tooth and butterfly charm). Yes, this stuff was actually sitting on the ground, not far from my house. They were attached to some godawful blue nylon necklace cord. The butterfly pendant says www.boneroom.com on the back, which turns out to be a website with some pretty awesome dead things for sale.
Next I started adding whatever random beads I had leftover from other projects, and a couple other random beads. I was going to go with just blue and green, but I had some beads that were already wired and I'm lazy. The octopus' tentacles are pretty wide in some places so I had to get EXTRA CREATIVE (whimsicle) in some places. The big green gem and the shark tooth are attached with the rings that the gems came on when I bought them (upcycled!). The red glass crystal is attached with a length of chain that wraps around the back of the pendant. The amber and purple beads are attached to the chain as well.
I finished it off with some randomly placed silvertone charms (keys and shit because they're steampunk as hell) and sat back to admire my creation. I've had a few requests from the Regretsy community to actually list this piece in my shop, possibly for charity, but right now I'm being a greedy bitch and keeping him all to myself.
